Erik serves as a Senior Incident Response Analyst on Cisco’s Advisory Services team. Prior to joining Cisco, Erik was the Intrusion Forensics Team manager for JPMorgan Chase’s internal security team, and spent 13 years with the Fort Worth Police Department in Texas, where he began his career pursuing computer crimes cases. Erik’s experience spans investigations across Windows, UNIX, and AIX systems using file system, memory, and network artifacts. He has performed key work to uncover indicators of compromise to resolve large scale computer security breaches, and led the efforts of multiple teams to remediate issues discovered during investigations.

Erik has a B.S. In Information Technology from Tarleton State University, multiple SANS computer forensics certifications, developed and taught a computer forensic training course for the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists, and served as a subject matter expert for computer forensic training material taught by the National White Collar Crime Center.

Erik lives in Tampa, Florida with his wife and two children.
